The Shakespeare Revue

The Shakespeare Revue
This show is sold out: extra performance on Wednesday 26th January; pay on the door.

21st, 22nd and 28th, 29th January 2005

Best described as “An evening of sparkling sophistication and unabashed fun” The Shakespeare Revue includes comic sketches and songs, some specially written for the show, by the cream of creative genius. Including material by Alan Bennett, Noël Coward, Maureen Lipman, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Victoria Wood and Monty Python among others, this enchanting collection of witty music and skits about the Bard even includes some of his very own work.

Those who know nothing about Shakespeare, including those who can’t tell their Bottom from their Polonius, will find that there is something funny and familiar in this glittering anthology. First presented by the RSC at The Barbican Centre and subsequently in the West End, this joyous words-and-music celebration of the delights of the Bard gathers together some of the finest comic material inspired by the works of William Shakespeare.

The evening follows our Dinner Theatre format and tables are available for up to eight people; tickets are £17.50 each.

The Shakespeare Review was devised by Christopher Luscombe and Malcolm McKee and will be performed by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
