Three women join forces. Life is fun. Living is intense. Together they feel unassailable. Crackling with wisdom and wit, Di and Viv and Rose is a humorous and thoughtful exploration of friendship’s impact on life and life’s impact on friendship.

Di and Viv and Rose charts the steady but sometimes chaotic progression of these three women’s lives and their ultimately enduring bonds. The varied journeys of their lives take their toll on the characters, forcing them apart and stretching their relationships with each other to a near breaking point.

Directors programme notes from Phil.

I am excited to welcome you to this production of Di and Viv and Rose. This story, of three ladies, of their friendship, of their lives, grabbed me the very first time I read it and I am over the moon to have been able to direct this as my first foray in solo directorship. The play is an emotional rollercoaster that through every rehearsal has caught me, even though I know the play back to front.

For me, the story is brought to life by the three characters, who share a house through their university years, and we see how each of their lives turns out, how it affects their friendship, sometimes taking it to near breaking point, and their friendship is what always brings them back.

I’d like to thank everyone that has supported me with this production, from all those within the society, to those front-of-house and back, on the stage and off. Without everyone working together we wouldn’t be able to put on such amazing productions. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed directing it.
